Eligibility & Equipment Rules
USATF Membership Requirements
- Active USATF membership required for championship eligibility
- Membership must be valid on race day (November 14, 2026)
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required for national championship titles
- International runners may participate but are not eligible for national titles
- Register at usatf.org and include membership number during race registration
Shoe Regulation Checklist
- Maximum Stack Height: 40mm sole thickness at any point
- Carbon Plate: Single embedded carbon plate maximum
- Market Availability: Shoe must be commercially available for at least 4 months prior to race day
- Inspection: Race officials reserve the right to inspect footwear at any time
- Compliance: World Athletics Technical Rules apply
USADA Drug Testing Protocol
All championship contenders are subject to United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) testing protocols. This may include pre-race, in-competition, and post-race testing for prohibited substances under the World Anti-Doping Code.
Athletes are responsible for all substances in their body. Review the USADA Prohibited List at usada.org and use the Global DRO resource to verify your medications. Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) must be filed in advance.
Failure to comply with testing protocols, including refusal or failure to appear, may result in disqualification and a ban from future USATF championship events.
