100 Mile race details

The 100 Mile course is an out-and-back on the Tunnel Hill State Trail, a converted rail corridor through the Shawnee National Forest. Runners start in Vienna, IL, heading north on crushed limestone to the Wetlands Center turnaround at mile 50, then return south. The surface is consistent, fast, and flat — making it the ideal venue for world-record attempts.
